North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly going head to head for the signing of young Genk midfielder Sander Berge.
The Lilywhites are said to be edging closer to their first signing of the summer ahead of this evening's 5pm deadline.
Berge, capped nine times by Norway at senior level, is said to have emerged as a late target for Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, but Norwegian outlet Dagbladet suggests that Arsenal are also in the running.
Arsenal were also linked with the 20-year-old last summer, only for his reported £18m valuation to put then-manager Arsene Wenger off making a move.
While Spurs have yet to get off the mark in terms of their summer spending, the Gunners have brought in five new faces since the end of last season.
