Arsenal have reportedly submitted a fresh bid for Shakhtar Donetsk's Mykhaylo Mudryk.
The Ukrainian winger is understood to be Mikel Arteta's top target as the Gunners seek to maintain their charge for the Premier League title, having built a five-point lead over Manchester City.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the league leaders have submitted a new bid for the 22-year-old attacker and that the parties are close in their valuations.
However, he claims that there has been no breakthrough yet, and that talks are ongoing over a January deal.
Chelsea have also been linked with a move for the 22-year-old, but the report claims that the Blues have not lodged an official bid for Mudryk, having this week completed the signing of Joao Felix until the end of the season.
Just last week, reports had claimed that Arsenal would pull out of the chase for Mudryk if Shakhtar attempted to start a bidding war between them and Chelsea.
The Ukrainian international has featured in 18 matches so far this season for his club, scoring 10 and assisting eight goals, including five contributions in six Champions League games. body check tags ::
