Arsenal are reportedly confident of extending Dani Ceballos's loan deal at the club beyond June 30.
As it stands, the Spain international, who struggled with a muscular problem earlier this season, is due to return to Real Madrid at the end of June.
However, it is currently unclear when the 2019-20 campaign will finish due to the coronavirus outbreak.
According to the Evening Standard, no formal talks surrounding Ceballos's future have taken place, but Arsenal are confident that Madrid will allow the midfielder to remain at the Emirates Stadium if required.
The 23-year-old has largely struggled to make his mark with the Gunners, contributing just two assists and zero goals in 14 Premier League appearances since arriving last summer.
Mikel Arteta's side are currently ninth in the Premier League table, eight points off fourth-placed Chelsea with nine matches of the season left to play.
