Arsenal are reportedly ready to offer Francis Coquelin a new deal after his transformation into a first-team regular.
The 23-year-old has played in all of the Gunners' last seven matches after being recalled from his loan spell at Charlton Athletic.
He had previously only made 30 Premier League or Champions League appearances since he was signed from French club Laval in 2008.
According to The Mirror, Arsene Wenger has been impressed by Coquelin's performance protecting the Arsenal defence and wants to reward him with an extension to his current contract, which is due to expire in the summer.
Coquelin, who has also had spells on loan at Lorient and Freiburg, helped Arsenal keep a clean sheet as they produced a disciplined display to beat champions Manchester City 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
