Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is reportedly preparing a £30m January bid for long-term target Mario Gotze.
The Borussia Dortmund midfielder is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in German football and has reportedly attracted the interest of a host of European clubs.
Arsenal reportedly offered £32m for the 20-year-old in the summer of 2011, but the bid was rejected with the German committing his future to the club.
According to Bild, his new contract has a release clause of £30m, but with the clause expiring next summer a bid is required in January.
Bayern Munich are also known to be interested.
