Arsenal are reportedly set to loan out defender William Saliba for the second successive season this summer.

The 20-year-old joined the Gunners from St Etienne for around £27m in July 2019, but he was unable to break into the first team and was subsequently loaned out to Nice for the 2020-21 campaign.

According to the Daily Mail, Mikel Arteta is now considering another loan for Saliba for next season to a fellow Premier League club.

Newcastle United are believed to be interested in the Frenchman, while Arsenal could potentially use Saliba in a deal to bring Brighton & Hove Albion centre-back Ben White to the Emirates.

White has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks, and the north London club are understood to have had a £40m bid rejected for the defender.

Saliba made 30 appearances across all competitions for Nice last season, scoring once on the final day of the campaign in a 3-2 victory against Lyon. body check tags ::
