Arsenal are reportedly considering triggering the buyback clause in Ismael Bennacer's Empoli contract, two years on from selling him to the Serie A side.
The Gunners academy product was allowed to leave the club on the cheap after making just one senior appearance, coming in an EFL Cup defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in October 2015.
Bennacer's career has gone from strength to strength in Italy, having helped fire Empoli to promotion last season and played 31 of their top-flight matches this term.
According to French outlet Le10 Sport, Arsenal are weighing up whether to re-sign the 21-year-old, amid rumoured interest from Napoli.
Carlo Ancelotti's side, who face Arsenal over two legs in the Europa League quarter-finals, are said to be keen to add Bennacer to their squad ahead of next season, but the North London outfit have the advantage due to a clause in his contract.
