Arsenal are open to selling Joe Willock to Newcastle United and plan to use the funds to aid their pursuit of Martin Odegaard, according to a report.
Willock has thrived under the tutelage of Steve Bruce at St James' Park, with his winner against Sheffield United seeing him become the youngest player ever to score in six consecutive Premier League games.
The 21-year-old has understandably been linked with a permanent move to the North East, with Magpies teammate Allan Saint-Maximin urging the club to sign him this summer.
According to The Telegraph, Arsenal are willing to let Willock leave should they receive an offer of £20m, and they will look to put the proceeds towards their efforts of signing Odegaard from Real Madrid.
Odegaard has caught the eye since arriving on loan in January, but the Gunners are also thought to be considering moves for Emiliano Buendia and Julian Brandt as cheaper alternatives to the Norwegian playmaker.
Willock remains contracted to Arsenal until 2023, and he bagged three goals and three assists in five Europa League appearances during the first half of the season for the Gunners. body check tags ::
