Arsenal have reportedly won the race for Mykhaylo Mudryk, with the Shakhtar Donetsk attacker set to move to the Emirates Stadium next year.

The 21-year-old has been in impressive form for his Ukrainian club this season, scoring 10 goals and registering eight assists in 18 appearances in all competitions.

Mudryk has scored seven times and registered six assists in 12 league appearances, while he managed three goals and two assists in six outings in the group stage of the Champions League.

There has been a host of speculation surrounding the forward's future in recent months, with Newcastle United, Barcelona and Manchester City among the clubs to be linked with his services.

However, Arsenal have remained firmly in the argument for the Ukraine international, and according to The Mirror, the Gunners have won the race for his signature.

The report claims that Mikel Arteta's side 'have the framework of a deal in place', with Shakhtar lowering their initial demands of £90m.

Arsenal will allegedly pay £40m plus add-ons for the attacker, who is keen to link up with fellow Ukraine international Oleksandr Zinchenko at the Emirates Stadium.

Mudryk has scored 12 goals and registered 17 assists in 44 appearances for his current side in all competitions, while his contract is due to run until December 2026.

Shakhtar boss Igor Jovicevic recently urged the in-demand attacker to reject interest from other clubs in order to remain with the Donetsk giants.

"This management will decide what to do when there is an option to sell a football player, the star of the team," Jovicevic told reporters.

"As a coach, of course, I would like such a player to play as long as possible in the team, to build a quality Shakhtar around him, so that everyone gains momentum, gains experience and does what, perhaps, the team once did in the Champions League.

"With our efforts, talent and ambition, I think we could do it together eventually. They are young, I say again, young. There are several football players in Dinamo (Zagreb), for example, (Josko) Gvardiol, who plays for Leipzig and today played in the World Cup [for Croatia], the Spaniard Dani Olmo, who played in Zagreb.

"Each of them played at least 100 matches for the club and only then moved from the intermediate club, and not immediately to Barcelona and Manchester City."

Arsenal are currently top of the Premier League table, with the Gunners boasting 37 points from their opening 14 matches of the season, which has left them five points clear of second-placed Manchester City.
