Swansea City sign 19-year-old Arsenal midfielder Charlie Patino on loan for the 2023-24 season.

Arsenal midfielder Charlie Patino has joined Swansea City on loan for the 2023-24 season.

The 19-year-old - regarded as one of the most promising players to emerge from the Gunners' Hale End academy - was a regular for Blackpool during a productive loan spell last season.

Patino amassed three goals and four assists in 37 matches for the Tangerines, but he has not been involved for Arsenal in pre-season amid reports claiming that he is set to leave the club permanently.

However, the England Under-20 international has instead departed on loan for a second successive season, and he has been given the number 18 shirt at the Liberty Stadium.

Patino joined Arsenal's youth academy at the age of 11, and he scored on his senior debut for the Gunners in an EFL Cup quarter-final win over Sunderland in the 2021-22 season.

The midfielder made his first start for Mikel Arteta's side in a 1-0 FA Cup third-round loss to Nottingham Forest two weeks later, but he is yet to make his Premier League debut for Arsenal, who recently activated an extension in his deal to keep him at the club until 2025. body check tags ::
