Mikel Arteta has insisted that Arsenal have not made a move to secure a permanent deal for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.
While Los Blancos were prepared to loan the player to the Gunners last summer, they did not give Arsenal the option to sign the 23-year-old on a full-time basis.
Although Ceballos has endured a mixed period at the Emirates Stadium, it has been claimed that Arteta wants to keep the Spaniard past the end of the current campaign.
However, at a press conference on Thursday, the boss of the North London outfit told reporters: "We haven't had any conversations."
Ceballos has made a total of 12 starts and 10 substitute appearances this season, which includes 13 outings in the Premier League.
An injury at the beginning of November led to the Los Blancos player failing to feature for the first team for over two-and-a-half months.
