Arsenal reportedly have no plans to offer midfielder Mikel Arteta a contract extension.
The 32-year-old, who will only have one year remaining on his current deal at the end of the season, could be surplus to requirements at the Emirates Stadium, according to Goal.com.
Arsene Wenger will instead target central midfield reinforcements with a transfer kitty of up to £100m being made available in the summer.
The same report suggests that the Gunners will focus on bringing in at least one "A-list" midfielder, while the club have been linked with a move for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender in recent weeks.
Arteta joined the North London club in 2011 from fellow Premier League side Everton.
