Barcelona full-back Emerson Royal is reportedly undergoing a medical in Spain ahead of completing a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs are understood to have agreed a fee worth around £25.7m with the Catalan club to sign the 22-year-old.

Emerson joined Barca in January 2019 but was unable to cement a regular starting place in Ronald Koeman's side, and has spent two-and-a-half years on loan at Real Betis.

According to Sky Sports News, the Brazilian is having his medical in Barcelona, before completing the necessary paperwork to finalise the transfer.

Emerson featured 79 times across all competitions for Betis, including 34 La Liga appearances last season at right-back.

He made his Barcelona debut on the opening day of the new campaign against Real Sociedad and also featured in the next two La Liga matches against Athletic Bilbao and Getafe.

Barca are now expected to approach Arsenal over the signing of Hector Bellerin, once Emerson's transfer to Spurs is completed. body check tags ::
