Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has reportedly headed to Germany for a medical with Borussia Dortmund as a three-man transfer chain nears completion.
The Blues have sanctioned the loan departure of the 24-year-old after agreeing a deal with Arsenal for striker Olivier Giroud - a deal that will in turn see Dortmund release Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the Gunners.
According to Kicker, Batshuayi is now on his way to Dortmund to complete formalities of the temporary switch, which will see the Bundesliga side pay Chelsea around £1.3m in loan fees.
While the transfer window in England does not close until 11pm, the German window shuts at 5pm this evening, meaning that the Batshuayi side of the deal must be completed by then if the linked transfers involving Giroud and Aubameyang are also to go through in time.
Arsenal are thought to have agreed a club-record fee of £60m with Dortmund for Aubameyang, while Chelsea will pay their London rivals £18m for Giroud.
