Chelsea are reportedly set to pocket a portion of any fee Brighton & Hove Albion receive for Arsenal-linked defender Tariq Lamptey if he leaves the club this summer.
With Hector Bellerin supposedly set to end his 10-year association with the North London club at the end of the season, Arsenal would be expected to secure a new right-back for the 2021-22 campaign.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently claimed that the Gunners are indeed interested in a deal for Lamptey, who made a huge impression under Graham Potter before his hamstring injury.
However, The Express claims that Brighton are not prepared to let the defender leave on the cheap, as Chelsea will receive a sell-on fee if their former protege seeks pastures new this year.
The 20-year-old penned a new deal with the Seagulls until 2025 back in January, but the report adds that his bumper new deal does not include a buyout clause.
Lamptey bagged one goal and three assists in 11 Premier League appearances during the first half of the campaign, but his hamstring injury has prevented him from taking to the pitch in 2021.
