Chelsea are reportedly planning to challenge Arsenal for the services of CSKA Moscow midfielder Aleksandr Golovin.
Blues owner Roman Abramovich is planning to lure the Russian international to Stamford Bridge with a view to loaning him out to affiliate club Vitesse, according to Sport24.
Arsenal are said to have sent scouts to watch the 21-year-old this season, although Gunners boss Arsene Wenger recently downplayed reports that he is readying a bid for the player.
Golovin scored a consolation goal against the Gunners when they met CSKA in the Europa League quarter-finals, a tie the English side won 6-3 on aggregate.
The midfielder has earned 17 caps for Russia and is expected to feature in their World Cup squad.
