Sao Paulo vice-president Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes has revealed that he is confident of reaching an agreement with Arsenal for the permanent signing of Brazilian midfielder Denilson.
The 24-year-old joined the Brazilian club on loan in 2011 after falling out of favour with the Gunners, but the vice-president has claimed that they want to acquire the playmaker on a full-time basis.
"I believe we'll reach an agreement with Arsenal. We have heard from Denilson that he doesn't want to return to England, that he wants to stay here with us. I think our relations with Arsenal will help that to happen," he told UOL.
Denilson has made more than 150 appearances for Arsenal.
