Southampton attacker Mohamed Elyounoussi has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Arsenal.

The 27-year-old has been in impressive form for the Saints at the start of the 2021-22 campaign, scoring four goals and registering two assists in seven appearances in all competitions.

The Norway international's contract at St Mary's is due to expire in June 2023, though, and according to the Daily Record, the Gunners are keeping a close eye on the attacker's form.

The report claims that Mikel Arteta's side view Elyounoussi as an ideal low-cost signing in the current market, but the North London outfit could face competition from Leicester City.

The Norwegian initially struggled to settle at Southampton after arriving from Basel but impressed during a two-year loan spell at Celtic before returning to his Premier League club.

Elyounoussi has scored three times in his last four appearances for his country, meanwhile, including a brace against Montenegro in a World Cup qualifier on October 11. body check tags ::
