Five players who could leave Arsenal

Sports Mole picks out five players that could depart the Emirates Stadium during the summer.

After an increase in their transfer budget, Arsenal have been linked with an array of top players during the early part of the summer.

The Gunners have been associated with bids for the likes of wantaway duo Wayne Rooney and Luis Suarez, while they have have also been reported to be close to sealing the signing of Gonzalo Higuain.

However, if several players do arrive at the Emirates Stadium, that will inevitably see a similar number make their exit.

Below, Sports Mole has selected five players that could see pastures new next season.

Laurent Koscielny

After netting the decisive goal at Newcastle United that sealed Arsenal's place in next season's Champions League, Laurent Koscielny reportedly attracted the interest of Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

The 27-year-old has reiterated his desire to remain at the Gunners, but manager Arsene Wenger is known to be prepared to sell his best players when they meet their peak value.

The Frenchman is likely to command a transfer fee in the region of £15m, and if they receive an official offer, Wenger could be tempted to allow the former Lorient defender to leave.

Arsenal have also reportedly upped their interest in a potential replacement for Koscielny, with Swansea City's Ashley Williams expected to be the subject of a £10m bid.

Marouane Chamakh

When Marouane Chamakh arrived at Arsenal, he was regarded as one of the top frontmen in Europe.

For the first six months, the former Bordeaux forward displayed the confidence in front of goal that had earned him a move to England, but his career quickly came to a halt.

Three goals in two seasons has seen the Moroccan fall down the pecking order, and it is almost a certainty that he will exit the Emirates sometime during the summer.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Spanish side Levante.

Emmanuel Frimpong

Emmanuel Frimpong came into the Arsenal side in 2011 with a reputation of someone who could add some steel to the club's midfield.

However, while the tough-tackling player was in the middle of a man-of-the-match display against Liverpool on his full debut, he was soon sent off, and his time at the Gunners has never really recovered.

His development has also been disrupted by two serious knee injuries, and the feeling is that Frimpong could help his career with a fresh start elsewhere.

A possible destination could be Fulham, where the 21-year-old played for the second half of last season.

Gervinho

After an impressive spell with Lille, Gervinho moved to Arsenal in 2011 with a glowing reputation.

However, his return in front of goal has not lived up to expectations, netting just nine Premier League goals in 46 outings.

The Ivory Coast international also made the majority of his appearances from the bench last season, and Wenger could decide to cut his losses with the 26-year-old.

Italian side Roma have been linked with a move for Gervinho, who is also attracting interest from France.

Ryo Miyaichi

Ryo Miyaichi was signed by Wenger in 2011, but he has yet to make a Premier League appearance for Arsenal.

The Japanese midfielder has been loaned out to Feyenoord, Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers during the past two seasons, making a total of 33 appearances.

The 20-year-old featured during Arsenal's 7-1 victory over Vietnam on Wednesday, but it is unlikely that Miyaichi will be able to hold down a regular spot in the club's squad.

Feyenoord coach Ronald Koeman has revealed that he would like to take Miyaichi back to the Dutch club.
