Lille defender Jose Fonte has suggested that Gabriel Magalhaes is interested in a transfer to the Premier League.

With Lille happy to agree to a sale this summer, the 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a switch to either Arsenal or Napoli.

As it stands, the Gunners are regarded as the favourites to sign the Brazilian, and former Southampton defender Fonte has acknowledged that he has spoken to his teammate about life in England.

Fonte told talkSPORT: "The club have allowed him to speak with other clubs. He's in the process of moving. It's just about him choosing which club, which is a great position to be in. They're all good clubs.

"We need to understand that every boy's dream is to play in the Premier League and he's been asking questions about the Premier League. He has been asking questions about clubs in the Premier League. I try to give the best and honest opinions."

Gabriel, who has made 52 appearances across two seasons at Lille, is expected to cost in the region of £27m.
