Galatasaray have confirmed that Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski is nearing a move to Istanbul.
The 30-year-old struggled for regular game time last season before enduring an indifferent stint at Inter Milan following a January loan move.
Podolski's agent recently revealed that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger wanted to keep the Germany international, but the player is poised to undergo a medical in Turkey tomorrow.
The Turkish giants released a statement to the stock exchange that said: "Formal negotiations have begun with Arsenal FC over the transfer of Lukas Josep Podolski.
"The player will arrive in Istanbul [on Saturday] morning for medical checks at Istanbul Liv Hospital. The public will be informed of developments."
Podolski, who joined the Gunners in 2012 from Koln, netted 31 times in 82 appearances for the club.
