Arsenal striker Gervinho believes that summer signing Olivier Giroud will need "a bit of time" to settle into life in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old striker joined the Gunners from Montpellier in a reported £9.6m move, but has yet to score in the league after two matches.
"Olivier is very motivated, but we mustn't put too much pressure on him," Gervinho is quoted as saying in The Sun.
"It is not easy to replace someone (Robin van Persie) who scored over 30 goals last season. Olivier won't be able to sort out our problems straight away.
"He needs a bit of time. The fact the manager signed him for Arsenal says that he has abilities and he still has time to be able to settle in."
Arsenal will hope to register their first victory in the Premier League this campaign when they take on Liverpool at Anfield.
