Olivier Giroud is said to have simply tweeted the post "Gunner .." this morning before deleting the message from the social networking website.
The Montpellier striker, who is currently with the France squad at Euro 2012, is close to sealing a move to Arsenal and will reportedly complete a medical in North London after the tournament.
Giroud has made two substitute appearances in Poland and Ukraine, getting a total of 21 minutes on the pitch at the Championships.
He is behind Karim Benzema in the pecking order to start up front for France and is likely to be on the bench when Les Bleus meet Spain in their quarter-final in Donetsk this evening.
The 25-year-old was the joint top scorer in Ligue 1 last term as Montpellier surprisingly won the French top flight ahead of Paris Saint-Germain.
