Ex-Liverpool and Manchester City midfielder Dietmar Hamann has warned Arsenal not to sign Ilkay Gundogan as he "won't want to do the dirty work" on the pitch.
The 24-year-old midfielder is out of contract at Borussia Dortmund next summer and is said to be stalling on a new deal at Signal Iduna Park.
Arsenal are rumoured to be keen on the German international, but Hamann told The Mirror: "[Gundogan] is a very good footballer, but he's a typical Arsenal player.
"He won't want to do the dirty work. His instinct is to join in further up the pitch, get a few forward passes going and try to weigh in with a few goals."
Gundogan joined Dortmund from Nuremberg in 2011.
