Hector Bellerin's agent has been pushing for his client to move to Roma from Arsenal this summer, according to a report.
The 27-year-old enjoyed a productive spell on loan with boyhood club Real Betis during the 2021-22 campaign, having been made surplus to requirements by Gunners boss Mikel Arteta.
Bellerin made 23 La Liga appearances for Manuel Pellegrini's side, helping them qualify for next season's Europa League courtesy of a fifth-placed finish in La Liga, whilst also helping the club end its trophy drought by lifting the Copa del Rey back in April.
The Seville based club remain keen on signing the full-back on a permanent deal this summer, and have reportedly asked Arsenal to cancel his contract one year early so that they can sign him on a free transfer.
However, with the North-London club refusing that request as things stand, Bellerin's agent is pushing for his client to make the move to Jose Mourinho's side in Italy, according to Calciomercato.
The report suggests that Roma are looking for an alternative to current right-back option Rick Karsdorp, with Mourinho an admirer of Bellerin, as well as Lille's Zeki Celik and Manchester United's Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Arsenal are said to be demanding a fee of around €18m (£15.4m) for Bellerin this summer, despite the Spaniard having just 12 months left on his contract at the Emirates Stadium, where he has gone on to make 239 appearances for the club across all competitions. body check tags ::
