Arsenal have reportedly failed with an attempt to secure a loan deal for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani.
Despite alleged limitations regarding their transfer budget, Arsenal have made high-profile additions in Dani Ceballos and Nicolas Pepe, while the signature of William Saliba has been sealed for next season.
However, manager Unai Emery remains eager to sign a new centre-back, especially now that Laurent Koscielny has expressed a desire to leave the Emirates Stadium.
According to The Sun, the Gunners have made contact with Juventus regarding the potential transfer of Rugani, who may not be regarded as first choice by Maurizio Sarri.
However, the report claims that the Italian champions have informed Arsenal that they are not interested in parting ways with the player on a temporary basis.
The 25-year-old has made 85 appearances for Juventus in all competitions since 2015.
