Juventus are allegedly contemplating whether to try to sign Arsenal midfielder Charlie Patino.
When the youngster broke through into the Gunners senior setup during 2021-22, he was tipped to become a permanent member of the first team.
Instead, after being restricted to one start and one substitute outing, Patino has since spent loan periods on loan with Blackpool and Swansea City.
The 20-year-old's time at both clubs can be regarded as productive, with a total of 41 starts and 12 substitute appearances having been made in the Championship.
However, at a time when the academy graduate has just over 18 months remaining on his contract, decisions will soon need to be made about his Arsenal future.
With Arsenal now competing for Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League trophies, it is unclear whether Mikel Arteta would be prepared to catapult Patino into an important role in his squad for 2024-25.
At the same time, Patino is unlikely to feel tempted to pen fresh terms should he not be provided with regular game time, a scenario occurring where a transfer could realistically be negotiated.
According to Tuttosport, Juventus may emerge as a surprise name to make an approach for the England Under-21 international.
The report suggests that Cristiano Giuntoli - Juventus' sporting director - has already made visits to England in recent weeks at a time when Patino is on his shortlist.
Furthermore, it is claimed that Juventus would be prepared to include Moise Kean in any proposal as they look to ensure that they remain on the right side of FFP.
Kean, who has already spent time in the Premier League with Everton, is only regarded as a backup member of the squad, failing to score in 472 minutes of Serie A football this campaign.
Like Patino, 23-year-old Kean only has 18 months remaining on his contract, and Juventus are open to parting ways with a player who would generate pure profit in the eyes of FFP having initially come through the youth setup at the Turin-based outfit.
While Arsenal are said to be in the market for a new striker, it is unclear whether Arsenal would consider signing a player who has only reached double figures in a league campaign once in his career, that coming on loan at Paris Saint-Germain in 2020-21. body check tags ::
