Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany thinks that Robin van Persie would be an "incredible" signing for the club.
Van Persie has been the subject of persistent speculation this summer ever since he went public with his intention to not renew his contract at Arsenal.
Kompany would love to play with the Dutch forward and thinks he is a superb player.
The Belgian defender told reporters: "He's a player who has improved so much, I started playing against him five or six years ago, but his performances last season were unbelievable.
"A player like this would be an incredible addition to any team that he joined, his movement is near perfection and the stats show his finishing."
City have been mentioned alongside bitter rivals Manchester United and Italian champions Juventus in connection with a bid for the 28-year-old striker.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger remains adamant that he wants to keep the Holland international at the Emirates Stadium.
