Arsenal could face competition from Liverpool for the signature of Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye in January, according to a report in The Express.
Cabaye has been a long-term target for Arsenal, though the Gunners decided not to push through a move for the French midfielder during the summer. It is now understood that Brendan Rodgers may also be interested in acquiring the player's services in the next transfer window.
Newcastle are reportedly unlikely to sell the player unless the club's £18m valuation of Cabaye is met by interested parties.
Paris Saint-Germain and Roma are also thought to be monitoring the player's situation at the club.
