Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has acknowledged that Arsenal hold an interest in midfielder Houssem Aouar.
While the playmaker is regarded as a key man at the Groupama Arena, Lyon may cash in on their star man having failed to qualify for Europe this season.
However, given the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic, Aulas has suggested that the Gunners may struggle to complete a deal in the coming weeks.
Speaking to Le Progres, Aulas said: "Financially, Arsenal are like everyone else, and Houssem could say to himself that the best thing would be to stay with us."
Lyon are said to be looking for a fee in the region of £54m, a price tag which will require Arsenal to make at least one sale if they wish to sign the 22-year-old.
