French giants Lyon have reportedly made an official approach to take Arsenal forward Gervinho on loan next season.
The Ivorian winger has struggled to become a permanent first-team fixture in two seasons at the Emirates, drifting in and out of Arsene Wenger's starting XI in a spell blighted by inconsistency.
According to the Metro, Lyon coach Remi Garde has contacted his former boss Wenger to ask about the Ivorian's availability as he looks to build a side capable of competing in the Champions League next season.
Gervinho's future in North London is yet to be decided but Wenger is thought to be keen on Lyon duo Maxime Gonalons and Clement Grenier and could look to include either player in a potential summer deal.
Turkish duo Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are also thought keen on Gervinho, with the 25-year-old's former club Lille also rumoured to be monitoring his progress.
