Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Mathew Ryan is reportedly closing in on a return to La Liga with Real Sociedad.
The Australia international previously plied his trade in Spain with Valencia between 2015 and 2017, keeping seven clean sheets in 23 appearances before transferring to Brighton.
However, Ryan lost his place as Graham Potter's number one to Robert Sanchez last term, which led to him seeing out the second half of the 2020-21 campaign on loan at Arsenal.
The Gunners have been tipped to strike a permanent deal for the 29-year-old, but Sky Sports News reports that Brighton and Sociedad have already agreed a deal for an undisclosed fee.
The report adds that Arsenal and Celtic were both interested in a move, but Ryan has already agreed personal terms with Sociedad and is set for a medical in the next few days.
Ryan only featured three times in his six-month spell with Arsenal - keeping one clean sheet against Newcastle United - and he leaves Brighton having recorded 27 shut-outs in 123 games in all competitions.
