President Aurelio De Laurentiis has acknowledged that Napoli are interested in Arsenal defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
With the Gunners having signed William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes, Sokratis has been informed that he can leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.
At a time when Napoli are open to cashing in on Kalidou Koulibaly, De Laurentiis has confirmed that he is open to negotiating a deal for the Greece international.
De Laurentiis is quoted by Il Napoli Online as saying: "We are working on signing Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Arsenal, we consider it an option."
Regarding potential exits from Stadio San Paolo, he added: "When there are important offers, we will sell."
Sokratis, now 32 years of age, has made 44 appearances in the Premier League during his two years in North London.
