Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen has emerged as a summer transfer target for Serie A side Napoli.
It was reported on Wednesday that the Gunners are considering the sale of the Belgian international, who joined the club from Ajax in 2009.
Napoli are now expected to table a bid for the 27-year-old in the coming months, according to talkSPORT.
Vermaelen started one of Arsenal's final 10 games of the season as they secured qualification for the Champions League.
