Samir Nasri has spoken of his relief after completing his move from Arsenal to Manchester City.
The £23m transfer was in doubt after Gunners manager Arsene Wenger said he would play the midfielder in their Champions League qualifier against Udinese, which would have cup-tied Nasri and caused the deal to collapse.
The switch was completed before the match and the French international is now free to play for City in the tournament.
"It's a big relief because it was a long negotiation between the clubs," said the 24-year-old.
"I was a little bit frustrated because I told the manager I wanted to leave and do the pre-season with Manchester City so I could get to know my team-mates.
"But now I'm finally a City player and that's what I wanted from the start so I'm very happy."
Manchester City are in today's (Thursday) draw for the Champions League group stage.
