Newcastle United are reportedly keen on signing Torino defender Gleison Bremer in the upcoming transfer window.

The centre-back has caught the attention of a number of clubs across Europe after impressing in his 30 Serie A appearances for Torino this season, where he has also chipped in with three goals.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Newcastle are said to be one of Bremer's many suitors, with the Magpies looking to strengthen their backline.

They could, however, face competition from fellow Premier League side Arsenal, who are reportedly interested in signing the Brazilian.

Bremer has also caught the eye of a number of the big clubs in Serie A, with Inter Milan, Juventus and AC Milan all said to be pursuing the centre-back

With a whole host of clubs vying for Bremer's signature, a bidding war could take place in the summer, with Torino valuing their prized asset at €25m (£21m). body check tags ::
