Elneny agent discusses Arsenal future

Mohamed Elneny's agent Alaa Namzy has suggested that the midfielder could yet play for the club again despite being frozen out by Unai Emery. The 27-year-old was linked with an Emirates exit in January and again over the summer before eventually sealing a season-long loan switch to Turkish giants Besiktas.

"Milan and Roma tried to sign the player during the last winter transfer window," Namzy told Time Sport. "But the negotiations didn't work then, and he received more than one offer as well. Elneny received a lot of offers last summer, led by Leicester City, West Ham United and Valencia, but Besiktas managed to settle the deal with Arsenal.

"Emery didn't ask for [Elneny's] departure from Arsenal because of his performance, but [Elneny] demanded to take a chance to develop his performance and return again. It is possible for him to play with Arsenal again and it still remains strong."

Wolves 'submit bid for Kessie'

Wolverhampton Wanderers have already begun making moves in the transfer market by submitting a bid for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. The Midlands side were credited with an interest in the 22-year-old over the summer, with some reports suggesting that a £36m bid was in the offing, but the Ivorian remained in Italy.

Kessie has featured in six out of Milan's seven league games so far this season, but the club are said to be considering accepting Wolves' offer to make the deal official when the transfer window opens in January. A bid of around £25m may be enough to convince the side to sell.

Vieira wants Arsenal job

Ex-Arsenal skipper Patrick Vieira has revealed that he would like to return to the club in the role of manager in the future. The 43-year-old, currently in charge of Nice, told RMC: "If it's my dream to coach Arsenal or France? Yes, like any player, when we do this job we want to touch the very high level.

"But the very high level I can touch with OGC Nice from the moment we give ourselves the means to succeed and from the moment the way which we work is quite consistent. But we do this job, and I do this job, to one day to be the coach of a team that participates in the Champions League."

Modric urges Bale to stay

Luka Modric has urged Real Madrid teammate Gareth Bale to stay at the club amid continued speculation linking him with a Bernabeu exit. The Welshman almost completed a lucrative move to the Chinese Super League over the summer but the deal collapsed at the 11th hour and he remained with Zinedine Zidane's side.

"He is an amazing player and very important for the team," Modric is quoted as saying by The Independent. "He is showing that this season. Hopefully he will stay this season and the next seasons as well. He's an important player for Real Madrid."

Five Premier League sides 'watching Elabdellaoui'

Five Premier League sides have all been watching Olympiacos right-back Omar Elabdellaoui in recent months, according to the Daily Mail. The 27-year-old - formerly of Manchester City - becomes a free agent at the end of the season and is being eyed by Leicester City, Aston Villa, Watford, Bournemouth and Burnley.

Nketiah unhappy on Leeds bench

Eddie Nketiah has admitted that he is unhappy with his role on the bench for Leeds United during his season-long loan from Arsenal. The 20-year-old has four goals in nine appearances for Marcelo Bielsa's side so far this term, including two goals in the Championship despite yet having a league start.

"I am really just trying to do as much as I can," Nketiah told Sky Sports News."Obviously, I will never be happy with being on the bench. I want to play. I pride myself on being in the team. I think I am good enough to be in the team. All I can do is put in the performances that I do. When I come on [to] try and contribute and I think with the chances I have had, I have done really well. In the two [cup] games I have [started], I have scored. I always try and help the team when I come on."

Vardy unfollows Rooney

Jamie Vardy has unfollowed former England teammate Wayne Rooney from all of his social media accounts amid the ongoing row between their wives. Earlier this month Rooney's wife Coleen accused Vardy's wife Rebekah of deliberately leaking stories about her to the press, allegations which the Vardys vehemently deny.

A source told The Sun: "Jamie has always got on well with Wayne, but he won't stand for having his wife hung out to dry in public like this."

Balotelli has 'quadruple salary' bonus

Mario Balotelli negotiated a lucrative clause in his contract with Brescia that could see him quadruple his €1m-a-year (£860,000) basic salary, according to Corriere della Sera. The 29-year-old joined the Serie A side on a free transfer from Marseille over the summer but if he scores at least 15 goals this term and Brescia are not relegated, his annual salary will rise to €4m (£3.4m) and remain that way for three seasons as long as Brescia are a Serie A club.
