Arsenal are hopeful of seeing star duo Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez agree long-term deals at the Emirates Stadium to end speculation over their futures.
The pair, key to the Gunners' hopes of ending their wait for Premier League success, have two years left to run on their current contracts.
Discussions are understood to have opened in May over fresh terms, but with both away on international duty over the summer talks had to be put on hold until the new campaign.
According to The Mirror, Arsenal chiefs are now hoping to convince Sanchez and Ozil to sign, with the latter being given further reason to do so following the recent arrival of close friend Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia.
Sanchez was heavily linked with a move abroad during the off-season, with Serie A champions Juventus thought to have shown an interest, while Ozil was tipped with a return to Real Madrid.
