Lukas Podolski has revealed that he left Arsenal for Galatasaray to boost his chances of playing at Euro 2016 with Germany.
The forward, who was part of Die Mannschaft's World Cup-winning squad last summer, has moved to Gala after finding first-team opportunities limited at the Emirates Stadium.
Podolski has said that Germany coach Joachim Low warned him he must be playing regularly to be in contention for next summer's tournament in France.
"I would ask for the same if I was in his position." Podolski told ESPN.
"Every player that wants to play at Euro 2016 needs to play. We would surely not be world champions if we had started the tournament with 20 players that don't get to play regularly at their club."
Podolski has scored 48 goals in 125 caps for Germany.
