Feyenoord forward Santiago Gimenez has insisted that no decisions have been made regarding his future following recent comments from FIFA intermediary Morris Pagniello.

The 22-year-old has been in excellent form for his Dutch club during the 2023-24 campaign, scoring 15 goals and registering three assists in 12 appearances in all competitions.

Gimenez has 13 goals in 10 Eredivisie outings this term, while he scored twice to help his side record a 3-1 victory over Lazio in the Champions League last week.

The Mexico international's future is currently the subject of much speculation, with a number of clubs said to be keen to sign him during next summer's transfer window.

FIFA intermediary Pagniello has claimed that Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur are the two teams currently in pole position to secure his signature.

"Now, the teams closest to him are Real Madrid and Tottenham," Pagniello told TuttoMercatoWeb.

The striker has since taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to clarify the situation, insisting that the comments have come from 'sources far from his environment'.

"In the last few hours, statements have come out about my future that have emerged from sources far from my environment," Gimenez posted on social media.

"Given this situation, I would like to clarify that I do not have a representative and that the person in charge of my career is my father with the help of Mariel.

"It is important not to take into account claims that have not been made by them or by me. I am very grateful for the understanding and support that everyone shows me every day.

"We have always been very open with information and know that as soon as there is any news to give, we will gladly let you know."

Gimenez still has four years left to run on his contract at Feyenoord, and the Dutch club are said to be calm when it comes to the centre-forward's future.

A recent report claimed that De Stadionclub would want an Eredivisie record fee to even consider selling the Mexican, meaning that he will not leave for less than the £87m that Man United paid Ajax for Antony in 2022.

Arsenal and Chelsea are also among the clubs said to be keen on the striker, who has scored 38 goals and registered six assists in 57 appearances for his current side in all competitions.
