Real Sociedad reportedly want to complete a deal for Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal as soon as possible so that he can feature for the club on Friday.
The Basque side offered the 33-year-old a two-year deal to return to his native Spain, with the option of a third year should he play enough games in the 2020-21 season.
Sociedad are now believed to be trying to push the deal through so that the left-back can train with his new teammates this week and feature in the Basque derby against Athletic Bilbao on Friday evening.
Imanol Alguacil's side beat Mallorca on Sunday to make it four points from their first two league games following their opening weekend draw with Valencia.
However, the Daily Express reports that although Arsenal boss Unai Emery is prepared to let Monreal, who has played 250 times for the club since joining from Malaga in January 2013, leave, he may not be rushed into a deal before the weekend.
The Gunners face Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby on Sunday and Emery is believed to want to keep the former Osasuna man for that game with summer signing Kieran Tierney unlikely to be available until October.
