Arsenal have reportedly opened talks with Dutch outfit AZ over a move for 16-year-old goalkeeper Jasper Schendelaar.
The stopper has not yet made his first-team debut for AZ, but it is understood that a number of European clubs have been monitoring his performances in the youth team.
According to TuttoMercato, Arsenal have stolen a march on their rivals by opening talks with AZ and are confident that a deal will be completed when the January transfer window opens for business.
Schendelaar, who is a Netherlands Under-17 international, is contracted to his current club until June 2019.
