Arsenal are reportedly preparing a £22m move for Real Madrid attacker Jese Rodriguez, whose long-term future at the Bernabeu is in doubt.
The 22-year-old has been in and around the first team at Los Blancos since 2011, but has largely struggled to nail down a regular position.
Injuries to the likes of Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale have handed the Spaniard plenty of action in the early part of this season, but he is once again expected to drop to the bench when those two return to full fitness.
According to the Daily Star, Arsenal are ready to test Real Madrid's resolve with an offer in excess of £20m for a player that has also been linked with a move to Serie A.
Jese has scored twice in nine appearances for Real Madrid this season, but did not make the starting XI for his team's 3-2 defeat at Sevilla last time out.
