Arsenal are reportedly ready to make a fresh approach for Wolfsburg midfielder Julian Draxler in the New Year following the announcement that he may be allowed to leave the German club.
The 23-year-old made it clear recently that he intended to depart the Volkswagen Arena at the end of the season, having supposedly been the subject of numerous failed bids in the summer months.
Among those thought to have made an offer is Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who The Sun claims is still interested in luring the Germany international to North London when the transfer window reopens for business in five weeks' time.
Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs has conceded that the talented attacker will soon be on his way to a new club, opening the door for a January switch by admitting that a similar type of bid will likely now be accepted.
Draxler has also been heavily linked with a move to Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, however, with agent Fabio Parisi revealing that a switch to the French giants was close to being completed in the summer.
