Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta has reportedly agreed to sign a one-year contract extension to end any speculation over his future.
The Spaniard's current deal expires at the end of the season, and there were suggestions that he could be on the way out of the club as the pressure piles on Arsene Wenger to add options in midfield and defence.
However, Wenger has decided against allowing Arteta to leave on a free transfer in the summer, and the 32-year-old will extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium by another 12 months, according to Goal.com.
The report claims that Arteta will earn another extension if he makes a certain number of appearances next season.
Arteta joined Arsenal from Everton for a reported £10m in 2011.
