Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined North London rivals Arsenal in showing an interest in Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt.
The Lilywhites are understood to be on the lookout for new central defensive options, as Toby Alderweireld is being eased towards the exit.
De Ligt has already nailed down a regular spot with Ajax at the age of 18 and has also been capped five times by the Netherlands senior side.
Arsenal are rumoured to have watched De Ligt up close with a view to making a bid in the summer but, according to Football.London, Spurs are more determined to land the Dutchman and are prepared to pay £50m.
Tottenham signed Davinson Sanchez from Ajax last summer, with the 21-year-old going on to become a mainstay in the starting lineup.
