Arsenal are reportedly on the verge of signing Gonzalo Higuain after agreeing personal terms with the striker.
The Real Madrid hitman has been strongly linked with a move to the Gunners since declaring his intention to leave the Santiago Bernabeu, and they look to have beaten Juventus to his signature.
The La Liga club are apparently happy to receive £22m in one purchase for the 25-year-old from the Premier League outfit, rather than spread the payment over the course of the next five years as the Italians preferred.
The Argentine is understood to have agreed terms of £130,000 a week, which will make him both the highest-paid player in Arsenal history, as well as their record signing, according to The Telegraph.
Arsenal have also been linked with summer moves for Wayne Rooney, David Villa and Stevan Jovetic.
