Carl Jenkinson has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Liverpool, who see the Arsenal defender as an ideal replacement for Glen Johnson.
The 23-year-old has impressed on loan at West Ham United this season, featuring in 25 of their Premier League games to build up his experience of playing at the highest level.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is said to be keen on signing the England Under-21s international on a full-time basis, although he could now face competition from Liverpool.
It is claimed by The Sun that, with Johnson likely to depart Anfield at the end of the season, the Arsenal full-back could be brought in to plug the gap left by his fellow countryman.
Jenkinson has three years left to run on his current deal at the Emirates Stadium, although he faces a battle with the likes of Hector Bellerin, Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers for a first-team spot.
