Manchester City have reportedly decided to launch a £30m move for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.
A busy summer of transfer activity is expected after a disappointing defence of their Premier League title, and signing English players is important for the club as they look to meet the homegrown quota.
Manuel Pellegrini's side have reportedly failed with two bids for Liverpool's Raheem Sterling, and The Mirror claims that City will now begin plans to tempt Wilshere away from the Gunners.
The 23-year-old recently suggested that he has no desire to leave North London following another campaign disrupted by injury, but it remains unclear whether Arsene Wenger would be willing to discuss a deal for the England international, who often started on the bench behind the likes of Santi Cazorla, Aaron Ramsey and Francis Coquelin in the latter stages of the season.
Wilshere has made 155 appearances for Arsenal since his debut in 2008.
