Crystal Palace have confirmed the signing of English centre-back Rob Holding on a permanent deal from Arsenal.

The former Bolton Wanderers man arrives at Selhurst Park following a seven-year stay with the Gunners, who have supposedly received just £1m upfront for his sale.

The fee could rise to £3.5m through performance-related add-ons, though, and Holding has agreed a three-year contract with Roy Hodgson's side until the end of the 2025-26 season.

The 27-year-old is the fourth new arrival through the door at Selhurst Park this summer, following in the footsteps of Jefferson Lerma, Dean Henderson and Matheus Franca.

"I'm excited to get started and get involved. Playing against Crystal Palace the number of years I have, seeing the fans and how intimidating Selhurst Park can be, and how loud it can get, I'm looking forward to being on the right side of that this time!" Holding told the official Crystal Palace website.

Eagles boss Hodgson had confirmed his side's interest in Holding earlier on Friday, and Eagles chairman Steve Parish also hailed the centre-back's "tremendous" qualities.

"Rob is a player who will bring tremendous quality, possessing considerable Premier League experience for his age. Rob gives us options in two positions at the back, and we warmly welcome him to Crystal Palace," Parish added.

Holding leaves Arsenal with five goals under his belt from 162 appearances for the club, winning two FA Cups and three Community Shields during his time in North London.

The defender is the third player to seal a move away from Arsenal on deadline day after Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga joined Nottingham Forest and Luton Town on loan respectively. body check tags ::
